Ashcombe Primary School will be holding a special Superhero Day on 13th February in loving memory of Austin, who tragically passed away two years ago.
The day will celebrate Austin’s life, his love of superheroes, and the lasting impact he has had on his school and community.
Austin adored superheroes, and in a moving tribute, friends and family dressed as superheroes for his funeral.
Now, Ashcombe Primary is continuing that spirit by inviting pupils and staff to come dressed as superheroes once again — this time to honour courage, kindness and community.
The school will also welcome a number of real-life superheroes, including nurses, firefighters, police officers and farmers, who will spend time with the children sharing their experiences and inspiring them through their everyday acts of bravery and care.
Teachers at Ashcombe Primary spoke warmly of Austin, remembering him as “a kind, caring and bright boy whose vibrant spirit has left a lasting mark on his teachers and friends.”
One teacher shared, “Austin was a gift to us all and he will never be forgotten.”
The event will also support two charities close to the school’s heart — Be More Ben and Wanted Not Wasted — helping to turn remembrance into positive action within the wider community.
Superhero Day promises to be a heartfelt occasion, filled with colour, compassion and inspiration, ensuring that Austin’s memory continues to shine brightly at the heart of Ashcombe Primary School.
