Bristol Bears Foundation Joins Forces with CLF to Support City Academy Students
By Education Correspondent
Bristol Bears Foundation has announced a new partnership with the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), launching an initiative designed to inspire young people through the influence of sport and the Bristol Bears brand.
As part of the collaboration, a full-time member of Foundation staff will be based at City Academy School five days a week.
Their role will include delivering key programmes such as Brightsparks and Bear In Mind, providing one-to-one mentoring, and creating safe, structured opportunities for students to play rugby.
The initiative aims to engage students who may struggle with day-to-day school life, helping them build confidence, motivation and a stronger sense of belonging.
Both organisations say the long-term partnership is focused on improving wellbeing, supporting education and promoting personal development among young people in Bristol and the wider region.

Jamie Skinner, Bristol Bears Foundation CEO, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to expand the reach of the Foundation’s work through a dedicated, full-time role at City Academy. By delivering key interventions aligned with attendance and one-to-one mentoring, alongside our Foundation programmes
"Bear in Mind and Bright Sparks, we can make a real impact on young people’s lives by using the power of rugby to engage new audiences and support young people on their educational journey.”
Ben Tucker, City Academy Principal, added:
“We are delighted to continue working with the Bristol Bears Foundation and are excited by the many opportunities and the impact that this new role will have for our students at City Academy.”
