Clevedon School Students Hit Spotify and YouTube Again with Powerful New Single “Spotlight”

Students at Clevedon School, in North Somerset, are celebrating another major musical success after releasing their fourth original single on Spotify following an ambitious nine-month production journey.
Their latest track, “Spotlight,” was written, recorded and produced entirely inside the school by a talented team of young musicians balancing the demands of music production alongside GCSE and A-level studies.
The uplifting and emotionally charged song explores themes of confidence, ambition and stepping outside your comfort zone — further cementing Clevedon School’s growing reputation for nurturing outstanding young musical talent.

Recorded across classrooms and rehearsal spaces throughout the school, “Spotlight” features 11 student performers and musicians who collaborated on every stage of the creative process, from songwriting to final production.
The single is now streaming on Spotify, while a behind-the-scenes documentary showcasing the making of the track premieres online this week.
The release comes during one of the busiest periods of the academic year, with many students simultaneously preparing for GCSE and A-level exams.
Several sixth form musicians involved in the project have already secured places at prestigious universities where they will continue their musical education.
Adding to the achievement, three students featured on “Spotlight” also appeared on Clevedon School’s first Spotify release, “16,” which earned BBC Radio Bristol’s coveted “Record of the Week” title in 2023.
