The team behind the life-saving Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare project is thrilled to announce its nomination for a BBC Bristol Make A Difference Award in the Community Category.

This incredible recognition shines a spotlight on the project's unwavering commitment to public safety, community empowerment, and accessible life-saving equipment.

From installing defibrillators across Weston-super-Mare and surrounding areas to engaging local volunteers, businesses, and everyday heroes — this nomination is a celebration of everyone who has played a part in creating a safer, more prepared community.

“This is truly amazing news,” said Josh Bell, Project Lead. “It’s a powerful reminder that grassroots efforts can make a real difference. Every defibrillator installed represents lives that could be saved — and that’s thanks to the tireless support from our volunteers, fundraisers, local businesses, and community champions.”

The BBC Make A Difference Awards celebrate unsung heroes across the region who go above and beyond to improve lives.

The Community Award honours individuals or groups who work selflessly to make their neighbourhoods a better place.

As the team looks forward to the awards evening this September, excitement and gratitude are running high.

Stay tuned for more updates as Donate For Defib continues its mission — proudly flying the flag for community action, public health, and legacy-building.
