Felix Project Van Returns to West London Rooftop to Spotlight Food Poverty

A striking rooftop display in West London is once again drawing attention to the growing issue of food insecurity across the capital.
Vanguard Self Storage has renewed its support for food redistribution charity The Felix Project by placing one of its distinctive delivery vans on the roof of the company’s West London branch.
Visible from the A40, the installation is designed to raise awareness of food poverty in London and highlight the scale of The Felix Project’s work rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to people in need.

Last year alone, the charity rescued more than 18,000 tonnes of surplus food — the equivalent of over 43 million meals — which were delivered to more than 1,200 community organisations and primary schools across every London borough.
The support comes at a time of rising demand for food aid, with charities reporting increasing pressure on services.

Will McCullagh, managing director of Vanguard Self Storage, said the family-run business was proud to continue its partnership with the charity.
“We are committed to supporting our local communities and charities, and we hope this initiative encourages more people and businesses to support this vital cause,” he said.
Shane Dorsett, chief operating officer at The Felix Project, said the visible show of support helped shine a light on a growing crisis. He noted that recent findings show 43% of working London parents have skipped meals in the past year so their children could eat.
The rooftop installation will remain in place until March, ensuring maximum visibility during the winter months when food insecurity is often at its most severe.
In September 2025, it was announced that The Felix Project would merge with FareShare, creating a larger organisation with increased national reach and impact.
