Finding Light: Releasing Sunrise, My Debut Poetry Collection at 20

By Samara Siviter
On June 20th, I’ll be releasing Sunrise—my debut poetry anthology and one of the most personal projects I’ve ever created.
At 20 years old, this collection represents far more than just a book to me. It’s a reflection of my journey through healing, growth, resilience, and self-acceptance.
Over the past three years, I’ve worked as a Young Minds activist, advocating for better mental health support for young people. That experience has profoundly shaped who I am and inspired much of the writing in this collection.
I’ve learned how powerful it can be to use your voice—not just to speak out, but to connect, to comfort, and to heal.
Currently, I’m studying to become a counselor, and Sunrise feels like a natural extension of that calling.
These poems are full of pieces of me—moments of quiet strength, vulnerability, reflection, and hope. They’re for anyone who’s ever felt lost or broken, and who’s trying to find light again.
I wrote Sunrise as a way of processing and understanding my own experiences, but it’s also written for you—for anyone who needs a reminder that they’re not alone, that healing is possible, and that even in the darkest moments, a sunrise is always on its way.
Thank you for supporting me on this journey. I can’t wait to share Sunrise with you.
