Finding Your Feet Offers Paisley Workspace to Businesses Displaced by Glasgow Union Street Fire
By Community Correspondent
Finding Your Feet, Scotland’s only nationwide charity supporting people and families affected by amputation or limb difference, is offering temporary workspace at its Paisley charity hub to businesses displaced by the devastating Union Street fire in Glasgow.
The fire, which broke out on Sunday 8 March and tore through a B-listed building in Glasgow city centre, left more than 30 businesses without premises. Many lost everything in the blaze, including equipment, stock and years of hard work.
In response, Finding Your Feet has made several rooms available at its Paisley hub and is inviting affected businesses to use the space while they work to rebuild and recover.
“Our hearts go out to everyone who has lost their business in this fire,” said Cor Hutton, founder of Finding Your Feet. “These are people who’ve put everything into what they’ve built, and seeing it go up in smoke is devastating.
"We can’t undo what’s happened, but we do have space at our Paisley hub and we want to offer it. If it helps even one business keep going while they find their feet again, that’s enough for us.”
The offer is open to any business impacted by the fire. Finding Your Feet simply asks that those interested get in touch to discuss availability and whether the space could work for their needs.
Businesses interested in using the workspace can contact Finding Your Feet directly at info@findingyourfeet.net.
