Hundreds Flock to Inspiring Open Evening at Worle Community School Academy

By Schools Correspondent
Worle Community School Academy (WCSA) welcomed hundreds of families, parents, carers and students to its hugely successful Open Evening.
The event was a true celebration of the school’s vibrant community, with every department opening its doors for interactive workshops and activities.

Visitors enjoyed everything from energetic sports demonstrations to creative drama performances, inspiring music sessions and hands-on maths and English challenges.
One of the evening’s highlights came when two brave Year 7 students—who had only been part of the school for 8 days—stood up in front of the packed hall to deliver heartfelt speeches they crafted themselves.

They shared their first impressions of WCSA, describing their experiences of making new friends, discovering exciting lessons and feeling welcomed into the school family.

Their confidence and honesty earned huge applause from the audience.
The Jill Dando News reporters, the school’s award-winning student-led journalism team, were also on hand to capture the energy of the evening and interview guests.
Principal Mark Tidman said: “We were absolutely delighted to see so many families visiting WCSA. We are a true community school and are passionate to bring people together to celebrate the students and show off the school.
“The enthusiasm of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the buzz around the school was wonderful to see.
Our Year 7 speakers made us especially proud—it was incredible to hear their voices after just ten days at the school.”
The evening reinforced WCSA’s reputation as a high-flying, supportive and ambitious school that nurtures every child to thrive academically and personally.
