Inside Yeovil’s New State-Of-The-Art Italian Restaurant With Ambitions to Be Somerset’s Best

Stunning new images reveal a dramatic two-storey dining space with a theatre-style kitchen, central bar and double-height atrium.
Fresh architectural images have been unveiled showing the striking new Atrium restaurant, set to open after significant investment, in Western Terrace just off Yeovil High Street early next month.
The incredible Italian restaurant is set to deliver a bold, light-filled space and a completely new dining experience for the town - never seen before.
At the heart of Atrium’s design is a dramatic double-height atrium, built around a theatre-style open kitchen and a statement central bar lined with high stools. The two-storey layout features rustic wooden tables, classic bentwood chairs and an upper balcony dining area offering views across the entire restaurant.

The project is led by the team behind the hugely successful Tamburino group, which operates popular Italian restaurants in Street and Sherborne.
Sicilian-born restaurateur Domenico, founder of Tamburino and co-owner of Atrium, said:
‘I’ve visited some of the best restaurants in Italy and around the world. Now we’re bringing that level of experience — uniquely — to Yeovil.
“Our aim is simple: to create the very best Italian restaurant of its kind in Somerset.”

He added that the design has been meticulously planned around the guest experience:
“Every decision was made with how people feel in mind — from the moment they arrive to how they move through the space. Customer experience is everything to us.”
The visuals also reveal exposed ceiling services, hanging feature lighting and greenery throughout. A central staircase connects both levels, allowing diners to look down into the main space below.

Co-owner Salvatore said the vision goes far beyond food:
“This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. From the design to the atmosphere, Atrium will be something completely new for the area.”
The kitchen and front-of-house team will be largely Italian, continuing the authenticity that has defined Tamburino for more than 20 years.
