Somerset Construction Firm Led by Former International Rugby Players Celebrates One Year of Rapid Growth, Dozens of Satisfied Customers, Business Awards and Parliamentary Recognition

Dozens of delighted customers across Somerset are celebrating the one-year anniversary of Evolution Construction—a business that’s not only building homes but transforming lives.

In just 12 fast-paced, groundbreaking months, the Weston-super-Mare company has gone from strength to strength—winning two prestigious business awards, receiving glowing testimonials, and becoming a trusted name for renovations, refurbishments, extensions, loft conversions, and more.

But this is no ordinary building firm.

Jake and Josh, the co-founders, are former international rugby players—with Josh currently signed to the Bristol Bears—and their journey into construction is as powerful as it is personal.

Both have faced the highs of elite sport and the lows of mental health struggles.

Their shared experiences shaped a bold vision: to create a company that doesn’t just construct buildings, but also helps rebuild lives.

Jake said: “We are absolutely delighted with this first year. Clients and customers are our top priority, and we’ve been blown away by the outstanding feedback on our work.
"We’re also passionate about changing the story around mental health, which is close to our hearts and central to our mission.”

With a commitment to combining construction excellence with wellbeing, the team is not just building walls—they’re breaking them down.

Their refreshing approach has caught national attention. In just one year, they’ve been featured on the BBC, ITV, and are now preparing to take their powerful message to Parliament.

From wellness events and cross-industry partnerships to community-first thinking, they are helping reshape the story around mental health in the building industry.

Josh, who recently received a business award for his work alongside his rugby career, added:

“This has never just been about bricks and mortar—it’s about people. Our mission is to evolve the construction industry by putting wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.”

Their Design and Build service is growing rapidly, with a team of specialists delivering high-end renovations, conversions, and bespoke projects that turn dream homes into reality.
