Rotary Club of Weston-super-Mare Annual Charity Dog Day 2025

By Josh Bell, Charitable and Schools Correspondent
Last month saw Weston Rotary Members, Family, Friends and Volunteers turning the Beach Lawns into a Dog Show worthy of Crufts finest.
First through the door, just after it opened at 10am, was a lady from one of the outlying villages who’d come especially early, so as not to miss out, to register her Granddaughter into Classes being judged later in the day.
Instructions given to the Registration Team had been ‘no booking before 10.30’. What to do?
Well, if you’re a Granny too, in such circumstances you sell tickets upon request!
Hours later, as shown in the photo, it all proved worthwhile, as a very proud Nan watched the Mayor, present the Cup for ‘Runner Up To Best in Show’ to her Sydney with their pet Sadie.

What an end to a wonderful day.
The sun shone, the crowds flocked in and the Dogs were all gorgeous.
Thank you to the hundreds of people who turned up. You all make this Day very special for us.
Loads of money was raised for Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary and other Rotary Charities, we’ll report how much when it’s all been counted.
To all our Sponsors and the Volunteers who make this day possible every year, we thank them for their wonderful support.
