By Amy, 12, Jill DANDO NewsLeading marketing, media and technology company Ascot Group celebrated the opening of their new offices in Worle. VIPs, business leaders, customers and suppliers enjoyed the tour and reception with refreshments as part of the opening. The Mayor of Weston-Super-Mare, Councillor James Clayton, attended the event.  Speaking to Jill Dando Journalists from Priory Community School Academy,  Founder of Ascot Group, Andrew Scott, explained that his motivation to start the Ascot Group came from “people like you trying to make a difference whilst having some fun making it”.  Oli Ballard, Director of Business Leader limited explained that there are "currently 100 staff working on site and that they frequently work with charities, schools and local businesses to raise the profile of Worle talent".   Speaking with the team of journalists, he added: “Jill Dando News is a great initiative that is giving young kids practical experience of media and journalism and inspiring them to be curious. They were all impressive and we’ll be out of a job soon!”Journalist Colby, 12, from the Jill Dando News team shared "I'd like to work in this place when I'm older - it's inspiring".  John Hughes, the Senior Relationships Director for Shawbrook Bank commented that "the new offices look very smart and there is a good balance of work areas and relation areas".Ascot Group was formed in 2004 Founded in 2004 by award winning entrepreneur Andrew ScottIt's considered one of the UK’s leading marketing, media and technology groups and now has offices in London and Weston-super-Mare.
