Tesco joins the nation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and recognise the Armed Forces community.
Veterans, serving personnel and their families can enjoy an exclusive 10% discount between Thursday 8-Sunday 11 May when shopping in store to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Victory in Europe (VE) Day, which takes place on 8 May, marks the Allied forces victory in Europe and recognises the millions of people across the UK and Commonwealth who served in the Second World War and those who supported the war effort back home.
Ashwin Prasad, Tesco Chief Commercial Officer and Armed Forces network exec sponsor said: “The 80th anniversary of VE Day is an important time for us to acknowledge all those who served in the Second World War. The Armed Forces make incredible sacrifices to keep us safe, and we hope this discount will help them celebrate such an important occasion with their families.”
Tesco was the first supermarket to sign the government’s Armed Forces Covenant and they are proud to have a thriving Armed Forces Network, which brings colleagues with military connections closer together.
In addition, Tesco continues to support organisations such as Help for Heroes and the Career Transition Partnership who help veterans transition into life after the military.
