After six months of rehearsals and commitment, students from The King Alfred School Academy lit up the stage with their spectacular four-night run of Grease in March 2025.
Their hard work and passion were celebrated at the David Beach Awards, where the production earned an impressive fifteen nominations. Students and staff attended the ceremony and left with three major awards.

The team won Best Props for the set pieces that helped bring Rydell High to life. Antony received Best Supporting Male for his standout performance, and Mr John and Mr Cupples won the award for Best Musical Direction.
The production itself was a true team effort.
Students from Year 7 to Year 13 took to the stage with professionalism and enthusiasm, supported by a dedicated backstage crew and a talented band.
Reflecting on the awards evening, Mrs Martin shared her pride in the students’ achievements, saying:
“From their professional conduct to their stellar performances, the students were a pleasure. The school is incredibly proud of everyone involved in Grease and grateful to them for making the David Beach Awards such a spectacular evening.”
Students and staff at The King Alfred School Academy are already busy working on their next production, and everyone is looking forward to seeing what they do next.
