Bikers Join Life-Saving Mission: New Weston Partnership Could Help Save Lives
By Josh Bell, Charities Correspondent
There’s big news in Weston-super-Mare as local heroes team up in a life-saving mission that could make all the difference in an emergency.
Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare has joined forces with DocBike Somerset & Avon — and together they’re on a mission to make sure more people know exactly what to do when seconds count.
The powerful new partnership will see both organisations bringing crucial emergency skills straight to the community — from bikers to families and everyone in between.
People will be shown:
- How to perform CPR
- How to use a defibrillator
- How to find their nearest life-saving device
- What to do in those critical moments before paramedics arrive
DocBike, a registered charity, is already known for its work tackling motorcycle deaths through education, prevention and even roadside critical care.
Now, by teaming up with Donate For Defib, their reach is set to grow even further.
The partnership was recently showcased in a special photoshoot featuring DocBike members alongside the Donate For Defib team — highlighting the faces behind the mission.

A special shoutout goes to Steve, a key supporter helping spread the message through the eye-catching Roger the Rover Defib Road Trip — a unique campaign bringing awareness directly into local communities.
Behind the lens was Peter Elston, who captured the moment.
And this is just the beginning.
The team will soon be out meeting the public at major local events, including:
- Weston Bike Night (14 May)
- 999 Day Weston-super-Mare
- 999 Day Burnham-on-Sea
Speaking about the collaboration, Professor Graham Stuart said:
“As a biker and retired doctor, it is great to see Donate For Defib collaborating with DocBikes. Let us all do everything we can to reduce the morbidity and mortality of cardiac arrests in our local community.”
The message is simple but powerful:
Learn the skills. Save a life.
With this new partnership, more people than ever will have the knowledge — and confidence — to step in when it matters most.
