Young people from the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Air Cadets have been praised after taking part in an inspiring CPR and defibrillator awareness session.

The training session, held on Tuesday evening, gave cadets the opportunity to learn vital lifesaving skills including how to perform CPR and safely use a defibrillator in an emergency.

Organisers said the cadets showed “great focus, confidence and teamwork” throughout the evening, while enthusiastically taking part in practical demonstrations and exercises.

Those leading the session said it was inspiring to see so many young people eager to learn skills that could one day help save a life within their community.

As well as learning emergency response techniques, the cadets have also expressed an interest in supporting future fundraising efforts for a new community defibrillator.

“It’s always inspiring to see young people so engaged and eager to make a difference in their community.
“We’re also incredibly excited that the cadets are interested in working alongside us to help fundraise for a new community defibrillator.”
