This year’s Children’s Mental Health Week takes place from 9 to 15 February 2026, and in the current climate it is more important than ever.

With growing pressures from peers, social media, poverty and education, young people need to look after their mental health so that they can thrive.

Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 aims to strengthen the support systems that promote children’s mental wellbeing.

The campaign encourages peers, families, schools and communities to create inclusive and nurturing environments where children feel safe and develop a sense of belonging.

Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity that has provided counselling, mental health support and training in UK schools since 1994.

The charity launched the official Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 and has run it every February since.

Place2Be believes that children should not have to face mental health challenges alone.

Other organisations also support schools and communities to help children in the best possible way. One such organisation is Anna Freud’s Mentally Healthy Schools, which offers free resources and toolkits for schools.

UWE Bristol Graduate Runs 52 Marathons for Mental Health
A UWE Bristol graduate raised £9,000 for charity after completing 52 marathons in one year, inspired by his own mental health journey.

Its theme for this year, ‘This is my place’, also focuses on nurturing a sense of belonging among young people.
