Clevedon School has been named a finalist in the prestigious Music & Drama Education Awards, recognised for its exceptional achievement in musical theatre provision.

Sponsored by MTI (Music Theatre International), the awards highlight schools and organisations that demonstrate outstanding creativity and impact in performing arts education across the UK.

Winners will be announced at a live ceremony on 12 February 2026 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London.

Run annually by Music Teacher and Drama & Theatre magazines, the awards honour the innovation and dedication of schools, charities, and individuals who nurture and inspire young talent in the performing arts.

To reach finalist status, Clevedon School showcased its sustained commitment to musical theatre and the profound influence of its productions on students and the wider community.

Clevedon School has won a string of awards over many years with its West End style theatre performances.

Debbie Morgan, Head of Performing Arts, said: “This is an incredible achievement and we are so proud of what we create through our musicals.
“The whole-school Christmas musical is something we are deeply passionate about. It all started in 2011 with The Wiz.
“Then in 2015, with Little Shop of Horrors, we began entering regional competitions — and in 2023 we won Best Youth Musical with We Will Rock You.
“This year, over 150 students — around 10% of our student body — are part of Made in Dagenham. I’m so proud of everyone involved: staff, students, and our amazing community.”

Over the years, Clevedon School’s productions have earned more than 50 nominations across all areas of performance and production — including live student band, stage management, set design, lighting and sound, costume, direction, choreography, and individual performances.

Many of the school’s alumni have since gone on to work professionally in musical theatre around the world.

Tickets for this year’s production of Made in Dagenham go on sale next week. The show runs from 9–12 December, featuring four evening performances at 7pm and matinees on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th at 2pm.
