Two major UK charities are joining forces in a powerful move to tackle debt and support struggling communities.
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and Community Money Advice (CMA) have announced they are uniting to create the UK’s largest community-based debt advice charity.
The new partnership will provide free, regulated debt advice through a network of 380 centres based in local churches and community organisations across the UK.
With around 8 million adults currently facing serious debt, the need for accessible, face-to-face support has never been greater.

Money expert Martin Lewis welcomed the news, saying:
“Christians Against Poverty has long been a force for good in debt counselling… I hope the scale and community reach of this combined charity will be a lifeline for many more people.”
By working together, the two organisations aim to reach more people experiencing financial crisis, anxiety, and isolation.
David Nussbaum, Chair of CAP, said: “We can now reach thousands more people… This partnership is a big boost for hope and practical assistance.”
The combined group will continue working closely with local churches and community partners, offering expert debt advice, financial education, and ongoing support.
With more than 1,000 trained advisors, mentors and volunteers, the charity is expanding its ability to help those most in need.
CAP CEO Stewart McCulloch said:
“Together we have a powerful and united front against debt… bringing hope where there was fear and support where there was isolation.” He added: “Our vision is that anyone in financial crisis can get the help they need in their community.”
At a time when many are being pushed to the brink financially, this new partnership offers a vital lifeline—ensuring more people can access support, rebuild their lives, and face the future with hope.
