England Women's cricketers Dani Gibson, Lauren Filer, Alice Capsey and Tilly Corteen-Coleman visited Battersea's London centre during a break from their ICC Women's T20 World Cup campaign this week.
Ahead of Thursday's semi-final against South Africa, the quartet spent time with rescue dogs and cats at the charity, including 12-week-old Bull Mastiff cross Liora, who is currently available for adoption.
The players also visited Battersea's cattery during its busy kitten season, helping to socialise young cats awaiting new homes.
Lauren Filer met 13-week-old tripod kitten Hopper, while Tilly Corteen-Coleman spent time with 14-week-old Fig.
Dani Gibson said the visit had provided "the perfect way to spend some time between games", adding: "Several of us have dogs and cats of our own, so it was a real joy to spend time with the animals."
Lucy Hastings, Battersea's Director of Operations, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome members of the England Women's Cricket Team during their World Cup campaign. We'll be cheering them on in Thursday's semi-final."
