Lavender Green Flowers, one of the UK’s top florists known for gracing events from Wimbledon to Ascot, is turning luxury blooms into life-changing support for families in need.

A certified B Corp, Lavender Green is deepening its commitment to sustainability by donating leftover flowers to two local charities: The Baby Bank and Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP).

These blooms are sold to raise vital funds for essential services.

The Baby Bank: Essentials When They Matter Most

Since 2015, The Baby Bank has supported over 41,000 people, using flower sale proceeds to buy:

  • 140 newborn mattresses
  • 174 bedding sets
  • 10 high chairs
  • 6 toddler beds
  • School kits, wipes, bikes, and more

Lavender Green’s unrestricted donations let the charity act fast during crises. One caseworker said:

“Within 45 minutes of our call, you had everything sorted for this mum. A safe place for baby to sleep—and toys for her older child. Thank you.”

A former recipient, Charlotte, once fled domestic violence with nothing. The Baby Bank provided essentials, including a mattress paid for by early flower sales. She later returned to buy flowers as her way of giving back.

“Families don’t always feel they deserve care. This generosity helps change that.”

TVAP: Access, Inclusion & Blossoming Creativity

TVAP, a 2.5-acre centre for children and adults with special needs, raised £11,000 last year through flower donations—funding:

  • 430+ child visits
  • Family respite care
  • Music, art, and theatre programmes

Visitors also attend bouquet workshops, and there are plans to involve adults with special needs in preparing and selling flowers.

“These plants tell a story. They’ve had a glamorous past and now do something meaningful. Sustainability with soul—what’s not to love?”
“It’s a triple win: support, sustainability, and beauty.”

A Blooming Cycle of Good

Each floral donation is shared in a WhatsApp group of 255 volunteers, who set up pop-up flower markets in gardens across Ascot and Windsor.

Some weekends raise up to £4,500, with flowers sold for suggested donations—often half their retail price.

What makes this special is its circular impact:

  • Reduces waste
  • Funds urgent local needs
  • Gives event flowers meaningful second lives

Former recipients often return to support the charities that once helped them, completing a cycle of gratitude and generosity.
