Gedling Pub Caught in Goal Rush as Forest’s 7-0 Win Leaves Punters with Free Pints Galore

By Jill Dando News
Football fans were left in jubilant spirits on Saturday as the Gedling Inn kept its word, offering a free pint for every Nottingham Forest goal during their thrilling 7-0 demolition of Brighton.
The light-hearted promotion, made to celebrate the arrival of the TNT Sports channel, quickly turned into an unexpected windfall for punters, with the pub giving away nearly 300 pints throughout the match.
The atmosphere at the pub was electric as Forest took on Brighton at home.
The offer was simple: for every goal Forest scored, a free pint would be served to those lucky enough to be there.
But no one anticipated the seven-goal blitz that would unfold before their eyes – or rather, their glasses.
It all began early in the game, with a Lewis Dunk own goal in the 10th minute sending supporters rushing to the bar for their first free round. Within moments, the beer taps were flowing, and the atmosphere was one of pure joy.
The fun didn’t stop there, however.
Morgan Gibbs-White doubled the lead before Chris Wood added a third just before the break. But the second half was where the real madness began, with Wood scoring twice more to complete his hat-trick.
There were also goals for Welshman Neco Williams and winger Jota Silva, rounding off a dominant display by the Reds.
Nottingham Forest’s comprehensive victory was a huge boost for manager Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a Champions League spot as they continue their remarkable season.
For those who made the pilgrimage to the Gedling Inn, however, the scoreline wasn’t the only thing worth celebrating – there were plenty of pints raised in tribute to a brilliant afternoon of football.
As for the Gedling Inn, it’s safe to say the pub will be preparing for another round of generous giveaways when Forest take to the pitch again. After all, who could resist the prospect of free pints for every goal?
