Local Family Firm Steps Up for DIY SOS Big Build for The Joshua Tree
By Charities Correspondent
Family business F.H.Brundle has played a key role in helping transform the facilities of a Cheshire-based children’s cancer charity, after donating over £3,500 worth of materials to the BBC Children in Need DIY SOS Big Build for The Joshua Tree.
The project, a collaboration between DIY SOS and BBC One’s Morning Live and filmed in September, has completely redeveloped the charity’s support centre, creating a more welcoming, accessible space for families affected by childhood cancer across the North West.

When F.H.Brundle’s Newton-le-Willows branch was contacted by South Shore Productions with an urgent request for a glass balustrade, the team immediately stepped in to help.
They turned around the complex plans and bespoke order, getting the materials to Nick Knowles and his team within just three days.
“We were approached by DIY SOS to get involved and because it’s such a fantastic charity that does such incredible work we were excited to help,” said Liz Fielden, CAD Manager at F.H.Brundle.
“To be part of something so meaningful means the world to everyone here. We’re really proud to have contributed, even in a small way, to such a special project.”

Debbie Wilkinson, Corporate Partnership Manager at The Joshua Tree, added: “The build, completed in just 11 days with over 400 tradespeople, will make a huge difference to the support we can offer. Companies like F.H.Brundle make projects like this possible, and we’re so grateful for their generosity and expertise.”
