Three talented Year 6 pupils from Mary Elton Primary School captivated local audiences this January after taking part in a community production of Alice in Wonderland with the Clevedon Comedy Theatre Club.

The trio first auditioned for their roles in August and spent the following months learning lines, mastering choreography and honing their performance skills.

Their hard work and dedication culminated in a series of impressive performances that delighted audiences and showcased their growing confidence on stage.

Staff at Mary Elton praised the pupils for their commitment, perseverance and enthusiasm throughout the rehearsal process. The school community expressed immense pride in the girls’ achievements, noting the professionalism and maturity they demonstrated in bringing the beloved story to life.

All three performers spoke warmly about their experience.

  • Teal described the production as “really fun,” adding that she enjoyed learning from the other actors.
  • Yssy called it “an amazing experience.”
  • Bethany shared that she already “misses it” and would love to take part in another show.

In recognition of their impressive contribution to the production, the girls were awarded the Junior Founders Cup.

They also praised their fellow cast members, describing the group as supportive, kind and inspiring—qualities that helped make the experience especially meaningful.

With enthusiastic reviews and a proud school community behind them, the three young performers have made a memorable mark on Clevedon’s local theatre scene.
