New Public Defibrillator Installed on Marine Parade in Memory of Local Man
By Josh Bell, Charities Correspondent
A new publicly accessible defibrillator has been installed on Marine Parade in Weston-super-Mare as part of the Defib Legacy Programme, under the Donate for Defib Weston-super-Mare Project.
The life-saving device has been placed on the public toilet block opposite the Royal Sands Apartments.
It was funded by an anonymous donor along with public contributions, given in loving memory of Christopher — described by those who knew him as a kind, gentle and deeply loved man.
Several local supporters helped make the installation possible.

John West fitted the defibrillator free of charge, with Spencer assisting in the technical installation. Paul from the seafront team organised the placement, while Andy captured photographs from the launch.
Remarkably, the defibrillator was used in an emergency just one day after it was installed, underlining its vital importance to the community.
The project team says Christopher’s legacy is already saving lives, offering a powerful reminder of the value of publicly accessible defibrillators across the town.
