On Wednesday May 21st students from Clevedon School, Somerset, went on a trip to the Curzon Theatre in Clevedon.

"We learnt how to write poetry and worked with Danny from Raise the Bar, and also Muneera.

"In the morning, we listened to a powerful performance poetry from Muneera and we listened to Danny's rap.

"At the end Danny showed us how to freestyle rap using the words we gave him: KFC, nature and football. He was so fast and didn't even seem to think about what came out of his mouth.

"We all wrote a performance poem. Some of the themes were about home, some deep issues, nature and friendship.

"We got the chance to perform on stage. Some of us overcame stage fright in order to take the microphone".
