Clevedon School students Ella and Alex in Somerset were runners up in the Parliamentary debate chaired by Sadiq Al-Hassan.

They debated “Should the UK Government introduce a wealth tax?”

The arguments put forward by all sides were brilliant and there were many tense moments in the evening when candidates were questioned as to their understanding of their arguments.

Ella and Alex were a runner up as the best team and won £250 prize money for the school.

They are putting this towards a lower school debating club so that students can find their voice early on and take part in more competitions.
