Every Tuesday, students at Clevedon School, North Somerset, meet to discuss and plan their eco-projects.

At the moment, these projects include planning bike maintenance lessons, improving the school’s use of solar energy, and preparing for the annual Green Shift Festival.

Students in the Leadership Academy have been talking to a bike specialist and are planning to invite them into school to carry out a bike maintenance workshop.

Currently, students are surveying staff and students to find out their cycling interests (see the graph below).

Clevedon School is committed to clean energy and has previously won an Eco-Schools award.

To further improve how green the school is, the Leadership Group will be talking to the headteacher, Mr Smith, to find out how the new Woodside classroom generates energy using solar panels and how much money has been saved.

Clevedon School students turned learning into action by supporting a Bristol community charity through a meaningful and uplifting project.

Students are still investigating the science behind solar panels and hope to provide an update soon.
