A moving tribute unfolded on Thursday evening as a new community defibrillator was officially unveiled in memory of Roy Chell, the beloved husband of Christina Chell.

The device is part of the Defibrillator Legacy Programme, which places life-saving defibrillators across the region while honouring the lives of those lost.

Roy’s defibrillator was installed with the heartfelt support of his wife Christina, whose strength and determination have inspired many.

Christina has channelled her personal loss into a force for good, embodying the spirit of the Legacy Programme: turning grief into hope.

“This defibrillator is more than just a device,” said a spokesperson for the initiative. “It represents love, community, and the power to save lives.”

The evening brought together family, friends, and supporters to mark the occasion, with touching words and a photo tribute now available on the charity’s website.

To date, the Legacy Programme has helped install dozens of defibrillators, each telling its own powerful story of remembrance and community strength.
