We began the Organon project back in September when we joined the Student Leadership Team.

We researched weather stations and found one that could take measurements relating to weather forecasting, temperature and humidity, rainfall, wind and moon phases. It even shows the date and has an alarm clock.

If any of you are wondering why we called it Organon, it’s after a Kate Bush song about a man who tried to tame the weather.

We started by creating an Excel spreadsheet and putting in the data. We hope to use this data to create a school weather station and see how the weather changes over time.

What Bali taught me about community and sustainability
A student reflects on a visit to Bali, where meeting local people and organisations revealed the importance of community, sustainability and tradition.

All the data will be sent to the other members of our group, who want to create a weather display at school.

In the future, one of our group wants to chase tornadoes across the States!

He wants to learn how the weather works and why it changes. This could help us understand and perhaps forecast the weather in the future, which could benefit local and global communities.

There is now a school weather station at two of our houses in different parts of Clevedon, as well as one on the science department roof.
