Care Home Steps In with Free Easter Lunches for Local Kids
By Community Correspondent
A care home in Marston Moretaine is stepping up to support families this Easter by handing out free packed lunches to children during the school holidays.
Blakelands Lodge Care Home will be offering the meals from 30 March to 10 April, helping ease the pressure many families face when schools are closed.
Parents and carers can simply drop in between 10am and 3pm to collect a lunch — no booking, no questions asked.
The scheme is designed to be discreet and welcoming, ensuring children can enjoy a healthy meal without any barriers.
Hayley Lant, Front of House Manager at the home, said:
“School holidays can sometimes bring extra pressures for families, and as a care home at the heart of the community we want to do what we can to help. Offering free packed lunches is a small way for us to support local children and families over the Easter break. We want people to feel comfortable dropping in, there’s no need to explain anything, it’s simply there for anyone who might need a little extra support.”
The initiative aims to provide both practical help and peace of mind to families in Marston Moretaine and nearby areas. Anyone who could benefit — or knows someone who might — is encouraged to stop by during collection hours.
