The Clevedon School Student Academy has been working hard this year to create a better eco‑future for all.

Our three main projects have focused on energy conservation, improving the school grounds, and providing more opportunities to recycle waste.

We have taken part in beach cleans, worked within the community and local schools, and spread awareness of how a greener environment can benefit well-being as well as support local wildlife.

Eco-Schools have recognised our determination and given us opportunities to have a voice — whether at the Curzon Cinema, the Greenshift Festival, the School of Education or Physics Department at the University of Bristol, or even at Westminster.

Although we work on separate projects, we support each other as one big team.

In the Academy, all year groups are included, and there is no hierarchy. We are all leaders and have been encouraged to create our own pathways.

I am looking forward to next year and all that we can achieve together.
