Fantastic students hosted Royal British Legion dignitaries for Remembrance Day.

The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset, hosted Royal British Legion dignitaries to remember those who made a huge sacrifice for our country.

Staff, Prefects, and members of the Royal British Legion took part in a two minutes silence to remember those who fought and are still fighting in wars. They gathered in front of the memorial of the ‘Silent Soldier’ and members of the Royal British Legion paid their respects by laying a poppy wreath.

TKASA’s Joseph in Year 12 at the Sixth Form played the ‘Last Post’ before the whole school took part in the two minutes silence.

Those who joined the ceremony were left with the final message from TKASA’s Prefects: “for your tomorrow, we gave our today” – a poignant message from the Kohima Epitaph to remind us of the great sacrifice many individuals have made.
