Hundreds of pounds worth of baby essentials have been handed to struggling families in West Norfolk — thanks to a generous local charity stepping in when it matters most.

The Paragon Charitable Foundation has delivered a huge bundle of vital baby items to Baby Basics West Norfolk — marking the fourth major donation from the group.

Among the lifesaving items were Moses baskets and stands, changing mats, play gyms, bouncy chairs, baby baths and sleeping bags — everyday essentials many new parents simply cannot afford.

The charity’s trustees — Gary Robinson, Sue Robinson and Michael Massen — personally dropped off the supplies at St Nicholas Church in Dersingham, where Baby Basics West Norfolk is based, carrying the items up to the centre themselves.

Gary Robinson, Founder and Trustee of Paragon Charitable Foundation, said:

“We’re delighted to once again support families across West Norfolk, including Wisbech where Paragon Motors is based, through Baby Basics. It’s incredibly rewarding to know we’re making a real difference for babies and young families in our community.”

Speaking about delivering the items in person, he added:

“It’s always nice to come over and see some friendly faces!”

Baby Basics West Norfolk provides Moses baskets packed with essentials for newborns, along with larger equipment and clothing.

Families are referred through healthcare professionals, social care teams, schools and local refuges.

Maggie Anderson, Centre Leader of Baby Basics West Norfolk, said:

“We are profoundly grateful to the Paragon Charitable Foundation for this extraordinary donation. We are seeing first-hand how the rising cost of living is pushing local families to the brink; our referral rates are climbing steadily, and the need has never been greater.
"This donation allows us to meet that demand head-on and provide every baby in West Norfolk with the essentials they need and deserve, including a safe place to sleep. We cannot thank Paragon enough for recognising the urgency of our mission and stepping up to support our community's most vulnerable members.”
