The King Alfred School Academy recently appointed their new Head Students and Sixth Form President for the upcoming academic year.
Following a competitive selection process, four outstanding Year 10 students have been named as Head Students: Emily, Bea, Lincoln, and Mia. Stepping into the role of Sixth Form President is Olivia, whose dedication and leadership impressed across the board.
Staff were full of praise for the calibre of this year’s applicants.
Mrs Crow, Head of Student Leadership, shared her enthusiasm: “It’s been an incredibly strong year for student leadership. All our interviewees shone, and I’m thrilled to welcome Bea, Emily, Lincoln and Mia as this year’s Head Students. They’ve each demonstrated empathy, initiative and a clear commitment to making a difference.”
Mr Swaine, Head of Year 10, echoed these sentiments: “From start to finish, the application process was a joy. We had twelve brilliant candidates, which made final decisions very tough! We couldn’t be happier with the team selected - they're ambitious, collaborative, and already thinking about positive change.”
As part of their responsibilities, Head Students and Prefects play a key role in representing the school at public events, mentoring peers, supporting the pastoral system and setting the standard for respectful and inclusive leadership.
