PR Champs! Students Learn to Save Lives with Heartstarters

Great Western Air Ambulance offers students the chance to become life saving heroes in their community with the Heartstoppers programme.  

All students in Year 8 - 11 and 12 year olds - from Priory Community School in Weston Super Mare, Somerset had the opportunity this week to train in how to deliver CPR in the case of a cardiac arrest.

Pupils also learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).    

The Heartstarters programme operates around North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire.   

Great Western Air Ambulance explains that they aim for 'members of our community to have the confidence and skills in deliver early lifesaving interventions'.

Students were really proud of their participation and the skills built and went home with a certificate to make them smile.
