A team of ambitious Year 12 students from The King Alfred School Academy in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, have made waves in the Young Enterprise programme, earning two major awards at the Somerset County Finals.

Led by CEO Olivia, the student-run business began by creating and selling slime and resin products, later choosing to specialise in resin.

The team independently set up their company, raised funds by selling shares, and took full responsibility for every aspect of the business, from finances, managed by George, to social media, led by Lilly.

The students have been successfully selling their resin products both in school and in Bristol, all of which they organised themselves, including planning and managing their own travel arrangements.

Olivia said: “The project has taught us real-world business skills including teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and leadership.”

Secretary Izzy and Operations Director Clea helped steer the group through two rounds of interviews with judges from various industries and a detailed company report.

Their hard work paid off when they won two of the six awards on offer, for Creativity and Technology, at the County Finals.

Mr Purches and Mr King expressed how proud they are of the group for their fantastic achievements and hard work.
