Colour Run Smashes Fundraising Target (By Charlie, Imogen, Max and Jack)

Ashcombe Primary School was transformed into a rainbow of colour when we held our very first Colour Run – and it was a huge success!
An amazing 315 children, parents and supporters took part in the event, helping us raise money for the Ashcombe Friends Association (AFA).
By the end of the day, we had raised an incredible £2,977.35, smashing our original target of £2,000.
COLOUR RUN MEMORIES
The day was packed with colour, medals and lots of smiling faces.
Children proudly showed off their medals after crossing the finish line, and everyone ended up covered in colourful powder from head to toe!
The atmosphere was fantastic, with bright decorations, rainbow balloons and plenty of excitement around the course.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE DAY
Local businesses helped make the event extra special. PJ's Ice Cream Parlour generously donated £372.50 from its takings, while Partycraft Balloons donated colourful balloons for the start line.
Many runners stopped for photos throughout the day and proudly showed off their finisher medals.
The colourful event brought the whole Ashcombe community together and created memories we will never forget.

Marcus said: "It was a bit too crazy, but not for me."
Benny said: "It was very fun but quite short. I hope we do it again next year."
Fred said: "I had a very good time, but I wish they hadn't hosed the colour off!"
REPORTERS' VERDICT
As reporters for the Ashcombe Jill Dando Newsroom Team, we think the Colour Run was one of the most exciting events Ashcombe has ever held. The field was full of colour, the atmosphere was amazing and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
The best part was seeing the whole school community come together to support such a fantastic cause.
