Young people across Haringey are set to benefit from an inspiring new chapter as Haringey Music Service establishes its permanent headquarters at Alexandra Palace.

The long-term partnership will provide access to rehearsal, performance and learning spaces, including the Transmitter Hall and Creativity Pavillion.

Haringey Music Service will be able to expand its programmes; support SEND provision and increase opportunities for progression into ensembles and youth orchestras.

Having worked with the Palace over the past two years, the new agreement formalises the partnership with Haringey Music Service and unlocks wider collaboration.

Together, they will also strengthen Haringey Music’s ability to deliver high‑quality programmes, expand its reach, and connect young people directly to the wider music industry. The service can pursue joint funding bids, host larger events, and create forward‑facing opportunities that prepare young musicians for professional careers.

To mark the launch, Leader of the Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, Cllr Zena Brabazon as well as officers and key stakeholders attended the Schools Christmas Carol Concert at Alexandra Palace, where more than 120 school children, including 19 Haringey Primary school pupils, took part in the celebrations, showcasing the energy, talent, and diversity of Haringey’s youngest voices.

Cllr Zena Brabazon said:

Relocating Haringey Music to Alexandra Palace is about more than a change of location - it’s about opening doors for our young people.

Ally Pally is a place where culture, history, and creativity meet, and it will give our musicians the space and platform they deserve. This move strengthens our vision of making music central to community life and ensuring every child has the chance to thrive through creativity.

Emma Dagnes OBE, Chief Executive of Alexandra Palace said:

As a Charitable Trust, Alexandra Palace is committed to providing creative, cultural and learning opportunities for all. Deeping our partnership with Haringey Music Service strengthens that mission and supports the development of young musicians across the borough and beyond.

With our Creative Learning Programme and the BBC Concert Orchestra, our associate Orchestra, who rehearse and perform here regularly, Haringey Music Service adds to a thriving hub of creativity, and we are delighted to welcome them permanently into our community.

Haringey Music Service has long been recognised for excellence, with ensembles and choirs performing at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, BBC Proms, and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as well as touring internationally.

The new base at Alexandra Palace will build on this legacy, offering a home that matches the ambition and talent of Haringey’s young musicians.
