Heartfelt Thanks and Community Spirit as High Sheriff Backs Lifesaving Defib Project

By Josh Bell, Charitable and Schools Correspondent
In a heartwarming moment of unity and community spirit, the Donate For Defib WsM Project Team had the immense honour of welcoming the new High Sheriff of Somerset, Janet, and her son Rory to Revo Kitchen this Thursday.
The visit was a celebration of shared dedication to saving lives through public-access defibrillators across the region.
The High Sheriff’s ongoing support for the Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare initiative has been described as a “huge boost and asset” by members of the team, including Josh Dudley of JD3DP, who used his creative skills to present a unique token of thanks during the visit.
Josh shared, “To thank the High Sheriff for their continued efforts and support towards the project, I laser engraved a chopping board with a design of Maya, our beloved defib dog mascot, which I created myself. I included a heartfelt thank you message from the entire Project Team. As with all my chopping boards, I treated it with food-safe mineral oil to ensure it was as safe and long-lasting as possible.”
The handcrafted gift, engraved with care and thoughtfulness, was a touching gesture representing the grassroots passion behind the Donate For Defib cause.
The project, which continues to grow in visibility and impact, is dedicated to placing community-accessible defibrillators throughout Weston-super-Mare and beyond, promoting lifesaving awareness and training.
“It was a true pleasure to meet the High Sheriff of Somerset to raise more awareness for such an important cause,” Josh added.
The presence of the High Sheriff and Rory added further recognition to the project’s mission and growing momentum.
The Project Team expressed their sincere gratitude for the visit and are excited about the continued collaboration in making Weston-super-Mare a heart-safe town.
