Hundreds of families, prospective students and local residents came together for a welcoming community breakfast morning as popular Worle Community School opened its doors.

Visitors were invited to explore the school’s impressive campus, outstanding facilities, specialist departments and modern learning environments.

Bathed in glorious summer sunshine, families had the opportunity to meet dedicated staff and enthusiastic students, who were on hand to answer questions and share their experiences.

Guests also enjoyed a delicious free breakfast served in the school’s modern restaurant, with sausage and egg baps, cakes and pastries, fresh fruit, and tea and coffee.

Principal Mark Tidman said:

“We were delighted to open our doors to prospective students, their families and carers, as well as the wider community.
“We are a passionate community school, and it was wonderful to welcome so many people. It was a fantastic opportunity for visitors to see what makes our school such a special place.”

The event also showcased the school’s Jill Dando News Centre, where student journalists were recruiting the next generation of good news reporters.

The news centre is the home of the project that is expanding the kind, positive and aspirational legacy of former student Jill Dando.
