Just in time for the holiday season, Guinness World Records is pleased to reveal a new record holder on Santa Paws’ nice list!

Ozzy, a four-year-old French mastiff and Bullmastiff mix from Oklahoma, has officially achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest tongue on a living dog with a tongue measuring 7.83 in (19.89cm).

Ozzy’s owner Angela Pick says they picked him from the litter because of his personality.

She shares that “you could tell with his great nature that he’d be a really good fit for our family!”

Although recently verified as OFFICIALLY AMAZING™, Ozzy has had a long tongue since he was born, only getting longer over time. But surprisingly, he doesn’t use his tongue for a lot of licking!

Angela commented, “It’s funny, for his tongue to be the way that it is, he doesn’t really lick a whole lot. He doesn’t give kisses – he gets in your face and kind of loves and rubs noses, but he doesn’t really lick on a lot of stuff!”

He loves going for car rides and doesn’t like to miss out on what the family is doing!

Sometimes he doesn’t realize his size, but he knows not to tackle his humans because he’s bigger than them. Ozzy eats half a pitcher of dog food daily. He eats a high-activity dog food which they’ve found is the best thing for his diet: both for gaining a healthy amount of weight, but it’s a soft food that’s easy for him to eat with his tongue!

Ozzy’s record-breaking tongue spreads joy to everyone he meets, kids and adults alike.

Angela says it puts an “automatic smile on people’s faces.”

The family shares its “super-duper exciting” for Ozzy to be an official GWR title holder!
