New Community Defibrillator Launched in Memory of Royston “Roy” Dedman

A brand-new, community-accessible defibrillator has been officially launched at Lew’s Barbers Shack, thanks to the generosity of the Dedman Family, who funded the life-saving equipment in loving memory of Royston “Roy” Dedman.

As part of this heartfelt donation, a Bleed Kit has also been provided, ensuring that both pieces of emergency equipment are now Rescue-Ready and available for immediate use in case of an emergency.

The team at Donate for Defib expressed their sincere gratitude to AMS Electrical for carrying out the installation, and to all those who attended the celebratory photoshoot marking this legacy launch.

Friends, family, and members of the local community came together to honour Roy’s memory and support this vital cause.

Special thanks were given to Roger from the British Cars & Forecourts Group, as well as Peter (Corporate Lead), Josh (Project Lead), and Christina (Defib Legacy Lead) for capturing the day’s meaningful moments alongside the team at Lew’s Barbers Shack.

This launch marks another milestone for the Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project, which continues its mission in partnership with the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and the Avon & Somerset Bleed Kit Partnership to improve emergency response resources and enhance public safety across the region.

Heartfelt thanks go out to the Dedman Family, Lew’s Barbers Shack, and the entire network of supporters who made this life-saving initiative possible.
