Walliscote Choir Wow’s Weston-Super-Mare
By Schools Correspondent
Shoppers and passers-by at the Weston-super-Mare Sovereign Centre were treated to a joyful surprise this week as the Walliscote Primary School Choir filled the space with festive music and Christmas cheer.
Led by Headteacher Shelley Flanagan, the choir sang beautifully, spreading smiles among families, shoppers and members of the local community.

Their performance was warmly received, with many stopping to listen and praise the children for their confidence and talent.
The Sovereign Centre performance is part of the choir’s wider mission to bring music and joy into the heart of the community this Christmas.
Over the coming weeks, the children will also be singing at care homes and community events across Weston-super-Mare.

Walliscote Primary School is a richly diverse school community, representing 47 spoken languages.
Earlier this month, the choir also played a key role in a Community Carol Service at St Paul’s Church, hosted by the HM Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset. Conducted by Shelley Flanagan, the choir opened the service with Once in Royal David’s City.
