£120,000 Investment Delivers New Tennis Courts in Worle Ahead of Wimbledon

Students and residents in Worle are celebrating the opening of impressive new tennis and netball courts for the school and wider community.
The newly refurbished courts, based at Worle Community School Academy have been redeveloped to support the delivery of a high quality PE curriculum - in partnership with @Worle they are now available for use by the wider community — arriving just in time for the Wimbledon season.
The investment of £120,000 by The Priory Learning Trust is part of a wider commitment to improving sports and wellbeing facilities for young people.
It means the courts can be enjoyed throughout the year by students during the school day and by community members during evenings and weekends.

Worle School Operations Manager Amy Bignell said:
“Everyone is absolutely delighted with the quality of these tennis courts. They are now available for school use during the day and for the entire community, just in time for Wimbledon.
“Our students are going to benefit so much from having access to this resource. Many thanks to everyone involved in bringing this all together, and a special thanks to Candace Riley from @worle for a brilliant launch evening.”
The official opening event was organised by Candace from @Worle and included exhibition matches featuring students and staff, alongside a visit from local MP Dan Aldridge.

There was also some friendly competition on court, with sports centre employee Brad Singfield emerging as the winner during the launch matches.

The upgraded facilities are expected to boost participation in tennis across the area while strengthening ties between the school and the local community through increased access to sport and recreation.
