The Street Soccer Foundation has announced a major national tournament to mark its 10th anniversary.

The National Street Soccer Legacy Cup 2025 will take place on Friday 12 December at Derby Racecourse, bringing together around 150 young people from its programmes across the country.

All those taking part have completed the charity’s 12-week Street Soccer Academy, a personal development and employability programme for vulnerable young people aged 18 to 30.

The initiative supports those who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of it, as well as individuals facing unemployment, mental health challenges or trauma.

Football is used as a tool to build confidence, resilience and motivation, while helping participants move into work, education or training.

The Legacy Cup will give graduates the chance to represent the Club Community Organisation that hosted their Academy, competing in a national 5-a-side tournament designed to celebrate their achievements.

Sky Sports is expected to attend and cover the event, shining a national spotlight on the players and their journeys.

Global sports brand New Balance will also be present, gifting each participant a new pair of football boots, supported by New Balance athlete Bukayo Saka.

To mark the milestone year, the Foundation will also unveil its new official logo during the tournament.

The Street Soccer Foundation was founded in 2015 by former Charlton, Millwall and Gillingham footballer Keith Mabbutt. He will attend the event, which he described as a celebration of the charity’s decade of growth and the young people it has helped.

“The Legacy Cup is a celebration of young people, of resilience, and of what can be achieved when football, business and community come together,” said Mabbutt. “This day represents the true heart of the Foundation — offering young people not only an unforgettable experience, but a platform for inspiration and positive change.”

The event is supported through the Foundation’s corporate campaign, The Big Goal — a national movement encouraging UK businesses to help tackle youth homelessness.

Companies that sign up directly fund Street Soccer Academy delivery across the UK.

Businesses are now being encouraged to join The Big Goal ahead of the 31 December 2025 deadline for the 2026 campaign. Existing supporters and corporate members will be welcomed at the Legacy Cup tournament.

The Legacy Cup is expected to be an uplifting event, showcasing the Foundation’s mission and the commitment of partners, sponsors and businesses working together to change young lives through football.
