Nationwide Tapathon Raises Funds for Children in Need
By Isabella, 13, Jill Dando News Correspondent
On Sunday 23rd November, tap dancers up and down the country raised money for BBC Children in Need.
How did they do this, you may be wondering? By taking part in one huge tap dance!
Each year, The Performers Project—the organisers behind the Tapathon—choreograph a fun routine, which is then sent out to all the dance schools taking part.
They create both an easier and a harder version, ensuring that everyone, no matter their level of tap experience, can get involved.
This year’s song was Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner.
The official numbers for this year’s Tapathon have not yet been announced, but the event was held in an effort to break the Guinness World Record for the most people performing a tap dance at the same time.
